Hi Jay, thanks for being here today. I know you have a crazy schedule at the moment so we will make this short and sweet. Your Marked Men series is such a massive hit.
What do you put that down to? (apart from hot guys with tattoos)
Hmmm…because when Rule came out I think people were wanting something more real-more obtainable than a sparkly vampire or an elusive billionaire. The guys I write about are supposed to be guys you can find in real-life, I want them to feel like guys you could know and could date so I think that’s why they appeal to so many. I also think they became such a big hit because I was writing about tattoo and body modification from pretty deep inside of the subculture, not just off of Google or imagination. It is my humble opinion that Rule was really the first NA book that went beyond tattoos as a gimmick and really explored the art and lifestyle of it. But really hot dudes and steamy sex are a huge part of why people like what I write J Ain’t no shame in that. Oh I totally agree!
Are you a plotter or fly by the seat of your pants writer?
About half and half. Like I have a very specific reason in my plots and in my story arcs for introducing new characters and for some of the major plot points that happen along the way. But the guts of the story, the way the main characters act together and the decisions hey make to move the story along are all by the seat of my pants-or really developed as the characters talk to me as we go along. I don’t outline or brainstorm or anything like that. I start with a general idea or theme and just plow forward from there.
What do you love most about the genre you write?
I love that it is still developing. That the rules are still being defined so NA writers have more freedom to do what we want. I love that it was a genre that was borne from writers and readers WANTING it and not the major publishing houses endorsing it. I love the grassroots feel of that. I love that the audience ranged from 15 to 55 and beyond. I love that there is constant debate about what NA really is, how it works, the sex and steaminess in it, the future of it. Really it’s when people stop talking about something that it becomes irrelevant and passé, so the fact so many people are still discussing NA even now that the big publishers are on board still makes it matter.
What makes you happy?
My family, my best friend and her kiddos, my dogs, Colorado, music, getting to do what I love to do for a living, traveling-mostly traveling to meet readers, books, book people, cold Bud Light, really good tacos, not having to worry about covering up my tattoos for work…I try to appreciate every day and every opportunity I’m given. Being present in the moment, in the time I’m having right now makes me very-very happy
Do you have a book in your house that is destroyed because you've read it so
Any of my Anne Stuart books and all my first edition paperback of the Black Dagger series are pretty well worn.
Tell us a something about yourself that is not in your author bio.
I’m super opinionated…like really bad. But I don’t think anyone would ever really know that because I don’t really talk about my thoughts on things in a public forum. I mean if asked in an interview or while on a panel, or even if asked in a one on one conversation I’ll talk all day about how I think and feel about things, but I won’t post long blog spots about it, or tweet about it, or rant on Facebook about my ideas. Not that there is anything wrong with that. My take is just that however someone feels about reviews, book bullies, independent vs. traditional publishing, too much sex vs not enough sex-well that’s how they are going to feel and whatever I have to say isn’t gonna matter. Their opinion certainly isn’t going to change my mind so I guess I just look at it the same way. I am not the type of person to engage in argument for the simple sake of arguing. I don’t have the time or the energy for it.
I think it comes from being a bartender for so long. No matter how valid an argument was, how much fact and research was behind what I was saying-the guy on the other side of the bar was never-ever going to be swayed by what I said. Old habits I guess.
Tell us about your upcoming release? (and please share an excerpt with us J )
Well first is Nash on April 29th and he’s a continuation of the Marked Men series.
In June we get to meet a whole new crew of guys that are taking what it means to be a book hero and turning it on it’s head. It starts with Bax’s book in Better When He’s Bad! The whole series revolves around this underground crime ring and the mean and women that are tied in to it. There is a lot of focus on the choices being made, both bad and good that have landed all of the people in the situations they are finding themselves in and really how people can be a victim of circumstance or embrace it and exploit it for their own gain.
Bax is the first guy we meet and he isn’t a good guy-has never really been a good guy and won’t be a good guy by the end of the book. He is a true anti-hero and instead of reforming him I really wanted to give him choices he had to pick from that force him to decide what his like is going to look like if he doesn’t ever become more than the sum of where he came from. He has a puzzle he’s trying to solve and he’s looking for answers to some ugly questions when a very innocent young woman gets placed directly in is way. It’s Bax’s nature to just roll right through her, but for some reason he can’t and what ensues is a pretty intense adventure…with lots of god ole sexy time J It is by far my favorite book I’ve written to date.
“You’re wrong. If he set me up because he was too stupid to get out from under Novak, or because he was scared or caught up in something nasty, I’ll destroy him and I won’t regret it.”
She didn’t look away from me, and like it was a sign from up above telling me I had done my time and deserved just a few moments with this precious, difficult girl, I noticed one of the boxes of condoms had survived the crash to the floor and was still on the counter within reach.
“So tell me, Bax, what reason could Race give that will make this all okay? Is there one? Really?”
I felt my jaw clench and the corner of my eye twitch. I had spent five years thinking that very thing and the only answer I had come up with that was acceptable was, “If it was all just Race trying to save me from myself, like he always seemed to be doing, I can understand that.”
“I don’t think you will—destroy him, I mean. I don’t think you could live with yourself if you did.”
She didn’t know me well enough to say that, but I was about to show her just how far and how fast I was willing to go when I wanted something. She had no idea the devastation I could bring with very little effort. I was good at it. I reveled in it more often than not.
I saw her suck in a breath as I hooked a finger under the top button of her top and popped it open. I lifted an eyebrow to see if she was going to say anything, and when she didn’t, I gripped both sides of her shirt in my fists and ruined it by pulling it apart. The tiny plastic buttons pinged off the appliances and the floor. She made a face at me that had her wrinkling up her freckled nose. How on earth had I thought she was boring? She was like sunshine and warmth all wrapped up in a porcelain package blessed with the greatest tits I had ever seen. I never would’ve thought I was a freckle guy, but damn, I sure liked hers.
Do you use test readers? If so, how many?
Nope. Beta readers and early feedback is not part of my writing process. I have enough people in my head I don’t need outside people adding to the noise. I’m what 6 books in now? If it ain’t broke then don’t fix it…what I do seems to work okay so I don’t really feel the need to add extra hands to the mix J
Thanks so much for your time Jay. I know I will be waiting for release day, love the Marked Men series.

Thanks for coming over today Ellen. I got drawn into Reece and Sean’s story when you first introduced them in Wolf Sanctuary. Please tell me there is another book coming in this series. I need to know what happens to Catori and how they handle being her guardians. There is definitely going to be another book to follow on from Wolf Sanctuary. Catori is going to have her hands full, when her mates—yes, there are two—decide to take matters into their own hands. She can run, but not for long! "Into the Bear's Den", is in the works, I just have to juggle it in between the Preternatural Rescue Centre series :)
What do you love most about the genre you write? I have always had my head in the clouds, so I tend to get bored with the everyday. With paranormal romance, I never have to worry about that. There is a whole world outside normality, to explore, and the possibilities are endless. The pull toward gay romance is simple. I love men, and the more, the better. *grins*
Is there an author that makes you go all "fangirl? I have a few, but the top of my list are: Laurann Dohner, Lynn Hagen, Stormy Glenn, Stephani Hecht, Charlie Richards and Jackie Nacht. Those women absolutely blow paranormal romance out of the water!
How do you find balance with your writing and real life? It isn't easy, but then nothing worthwhile is. I find that if I don't set time aside each day to write, it has a negative impact on my mood, which then impacts on my whole housefold (no one wants a grumpy mummy!). Writing is my, "me time", my own little escape.
Describe yourself in 3 words. Hmm, that one is so hard, but this fits quite well: Friendly, sarcastic, daydreamer.
Do you have a specific place you like to write/music you listen to, etc? I have a small writing desk, set into the corner of my lounge room. I use headphones to listen to music while I write, yet I can still interact with the family while I work. It is the best seat in the house, right underneath the air conditioner :P I also realized a long time ago, that taking my eye off my boys, is a recipe for disaster. Being able to keep them in my sights is a win-win situation, and also a necessity. Just because I need to write, does not mean I need to lock myself away from my family. Compromise and working around our schedules has given me the best of both worlds.
Are you currently working on a new project? If so can you tell us what it will be about? I am working on the third installment of the Preternatural Rescue Centre series, "Fractured". Fractured, is the story of black cougar shifter, Davis, who finds that the peeping tom who has been watching the guardians for months, is more than he seems. When the pair finally meet, the terrible truth behind one of Davis's unique abilities is finally revealed.
Do you set yourself strict rules while you're writing? I try to get time each day for at least an hour of writing. It is too easy to put it off until later, and before you know it, the dreaded deadline is looming. Some days it is hard and I am restless, but I persevere and dedicate time, whether for writing or promoting. There are many elements behind being an author, that the readers do not see, and our job certainly does not end when we send off our manuscript. There is always work to be done!
Fast & Flirty -
1. Favorite color- Purple.
2. Favorite food – Lasagne.
3. Boots or heels- Boots! hehe.
4. eReader or Print- eReader. I can carry a whole library of them with me wherever I go, on my phone.
5. Social Media: Love it or Hate it- It is a love-hate relationship. On my pc, spending time chatting to readers and other authors is wonderful, but the second I try to post on my phone, auto correct jumps in to make me look like a bumbling idiot! For example. A couple of days ago, I was chatting to an author who wanted to know what genre a book I was working on was. When I intended to write "paranormal", auto correct changed that to "pram oral"...
6. Beer, Liquor or Wine or tea- Decaf tea, please. I don't drink.
7. Favorite place to get it on besides the bedroom- Anywhere away from prying eyes, is a great place. It is not easy when you have five boys!
8. Favorite TV Show- Supernatural. It has nothing to do whatsoever with the Winchester boys, honest. *grins*
9. Favorite Book series (besides your own) – Laurann Dohner's New Species. I mark those release dates on my calendar!
10. Pj’s or Lingerie – Lingerie.
11. Vampires vs. Shifters – You are making me choose? I can't! They both like biting and nibbling, something that makes any girls knees weak.
12. Favorite Genre- Paranormal, and preferably MM romance.
Bio: Ellen is a little Aussie erotic and GLBT author, living in a sleepy little beachside town in the far north-east of NSW, with her husband, five boys, and completely loopy dog. With a lifelong love of anything paranormal—particularly the underdog in a fight—she always makes sure they find their happily ever after. After all, as they say, it’s not the size of the dog a fight...Add in the allure of muscles and testosterone, and she is one happy camper. Thanks for visiting today Erin. You mainly write historical and I have to say, you describe your settings incredibly well. Makes me glad I live in this century some times. If you could switch places with any of your characters, who would it be? Why?
I think I would swap places with Ellie from my time travel romance Love in Ruins. She and I are both practical sorts who love everything historical. Although a challenge, I’m confident I could learn to live the way the Highlanders used to…and, of course, it wouldn’t hurt to be married to the hero, Ewan Mackinnon, either.
Your favorite book so far you’ve written is?
Argh..I hate that question. It’s like trying to pick a favourite amongst your children. I guess Fire of My Heart is my favourite for the sheer fact it seemed to write itself.
There’s nothing better than when you can channel your muse without really trying – not that it happens very often.
The book is on sale this week…er…can I say that?? lol
Of course you can. Can you share a teaser from that book with us?
The rain had begun to ease as Ellen paused in front of the manor. As on the first day of her arrival, a strange crawling sensation crept along her skin, accompanied by the notion someone watched her.
Transferring the bags to one hand, she rubbed the other along her freezing arm and picked up her pace. She needed to get inside where it was safe.
How strange, to think she was in danger outside. Maybe the cold had finally seeped into her brain.
Come on. There was nothing there. Must be imagining things. A reflection from a deep puddle caught her eye, made her stop, look down into the swelling pool.
There were faces in there. Distorted images of people in pain, and as each droplet of rain rippled one face away, another took its place.
Every hair along the back of her neck stood on end. Disbelief burned and twisted in her stomach, the air in her lungs became as thick as clay. The once brown muddy puddle turned blood red, and the crimson stain leached out across the gray pebbles and ran beneath her feet.
I’m very envious of your garden too. I wonder if you could share a couple of photos of your hard work and tell us, what does getting your hands dirty do for your imagination? Does it run wild when you take yourself away from the computer?
My garden is a mess at the moment. Summer is over and the once vivid green growth is beginning to wrinkle and die off. I find often that by distracting my thoughts with other things, such as gardening, ideas flow better and any writing problems I have seem to suddenly become clear. It’s a great therapy and gets you out of the office for a while.
Do you ever have a fan girl moment? If so, who?
Yes. I once met Matt Damon years ago in Sydney. I was with my boys visiting a little animal park called Featherdale at Doonside. Not exactly the place you’d expect to meet a star.
Name three scorchers on your bedside table or e-reader.
Hot books? I have just downloaded ‘Two for One’ by Ann B. Harrison..lol..hey, that’s you! Another fan-girl moment. I also have ‘Hot Rock’ by Annie Seaton, and ‘The Autumn Bride’ by Anne Gracie…don’t know about the heat rating on that one yet…
What are you working on now?
Ooh, where do I start? I have several projects on the go at once. First, I am completely a book called ‘From the Ashes’ which is the sequel to my time travel romance ‘Love in Ruins’. Next, I hope to complete ‘The Guardian’ which is the sequel to another previously published book called ‘Serenade’. Serenade will be re-published shortly. Plus, I have just finished the draft of a single title, and there are several more in the works.
What scene was the hardest for you to write?
That’s an easy one. It was the first chapter of the book I have just finished writing ‘The Highwayman’s Hostage’. I swear I had rewritten that opening chapter at least twenty times. I nicknamed it ‘Groundhog Day’.

Fire of My Heart
Love in Ruins
Welcome back to Australia if only via cyberspace Belinda. I know you get home every now and then but there must be something you miss that you can’t do without in the States. Want to share what that is?
Oh my gosh, where do I even start? I miss the beaches. I miss the sun. I know I have sun in America but it’s different. It just is. I miss all kinds of food and love it when my parents send me care packages—Tim Tams, Vegemite, Cherry Ripes, Turkish Delights, Chicken Twisties, and Milo. Yeah, I miss it all! LOL
One reviewer said you write a kiss with more passion than anyone she knows. I have to agree with her, you do it so well. What made you write in this genre? Was it always going to be romance for you?
I write what I love to read. I’m a HUGE romance junkie. I’ve tried to read outside the genre, but the books don’t hold my attention the way a good SWOONWORTHY story does. When I finally had the courage to write, it made sense that my main characters would be in love or falling in love. There’s something about getting tangled up in their emotions and living through their experiences with them. I also ADORE urban fantasy so between that and romance; I don’t think I’ll stray too far from HEAs.
Is there an author that makes you go all "fangirl?"
I fan girl over everyone! But I’d say those authors who inspired me and gave me my first taste for romance and had me believing I could write my own stories—Richelle Mead, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Kim Harrison, Ilona Andrews, Chrisine Feehan, Karen Moning, Patricia Briggs, and Kelley Armstrong. It was actually Kelley’s Otherworld series that had me write Darcy and Mason as werewolves. I wanted the series to be paranormal and instead of choosing vampires, I chose shifters. The first book came from a dream and that particular scene, it just clicked. I’ve been lucky to meet Richelle, Ilona, and Kelley. You want to know how much of a fan girl I am? I yelled across the hotel foyer at RT in Chicago and chased down Kelley. LOL
Who are some of your other favorite writers?
I adore Raine Miller, Jessica Gibson, Cambria Hebert, KA Robinson, Tabatha Vargo . . . the list goes on. I’m basically reciting the amazing friends I’ve made since becoming an author. And of course, my all time favorite author is my BFF, Lacey Weatherford. I always joke that she “pushed” me into blogging and then writing, but really, without her, I wouldn’t have been brave enough to publish. I heart her!
I know you have an incredibly supportive husband who even does a blog for you - what a honey. How do you balance your writing life with ‘real life?’
It’s just like you said, I have an incredibly supportive husband. I seriously couldn’t do this without him. He’s there to make sure I keep focused and on task. He also helps me unwind, brainstorm, and is always there with hugs when a scene is particularly rough. I can’t count the amount of times I’ve walked away from my laptop and sobbed in his arms. He takes it all in his stride and doesn’t think I’m crazy. I love that we’re able to do this and he LOVES blogging and meeting everyone. I recently took him to a signing and he’s already talking about the next one.
Do you have a book in your house that is destroyed because you've read it so much?
I try NEVER to destroy my books! I have nine bookshelves and each book is my ‘precious.’ The books I read over and over again would be the Fever series and the Vampire Academy series. There’s something to be said about diving into a comfortable book. Oh, I also love rereading Chloe Neill’s Chicagoland Vampire series. I heart Ethan and wish he was MINE!
Describe yourself in 3 words.
Shy. Innocent. Quiet.
Hahaha NO ONE will believe those so how about – dork, romantic, genuine.
Tell us a something about yourself that is not in your author bio.
Hmmm, I met my hubby online. We met in a chat room and when I decided to come to the US on vacation, I agreed to meet him. I. NEVER. WENT. HOME. Yep, we met and were married 2 months later. We’ve been married for 14 years now and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. That’s why I love romance—writing and reading it. Because I have my own happily ever after!
That is just the sweetest thing! Thanks so much for being here today Belinda and give that awesome hubby of yours a high five for me!

The Mystic Wolves
Book One – The Mystic Wolves
Book Trailer: http://youtu.be/o2LW3Yv_zwI
What would you do if a simple errand takes a deadly twist, turning you from cautious prey to dangerous predator?
Someone is trying to send a deadly message to Mason, arranging the deaths of those he loves and it puts the entire pack and Alpha on high alert. Darcy understands the primal instincts driving her beloved Mason's commands. With the help of those he sets as protectors, she learns about herself and the things she'll need to help support her Alpha and pack. When events turn dire however, one truth offers her strength - once given, oaths are unbreakable ... even if it means risking it all.
“You want to be wooed, huh? I’m not sure I know how to do that. You may have to tell me what to do.” The cocky grin he’d been wearing suddenly became softer, his eyes twinkling, and I caught a flash of the boyish charm I’d fallen for.
“Oh no, I’m not explaining anything to you. You should know by now, Mr. Almighty-I-Am-Alpha. Just know this—if you don’t get it right … you’re a dead man.”
He let out a rich, throaty laugh, and the sound made the soles of my feet tingle. In fact, it made everything tingle, and I braced myself. I was about to get ravished.
I didn’t move a muscle as he advanced, or resist as he finally gathered me into his arms. My eyes instantly closed and I tilted my head—waiting. Everything was still, our surroundings dimmed to a quiet hush.
He moved slowly, brushing his mouth against mine softly, tenderly. It was almost like a whisper, the feel of his breath fanning gently over my skin, and when he repeated the motion, goose bumps erupted.
Even though I knew it was coming, the touch of his tongue tracing my bottom lip had me leaning into him, my hands gripping the top of his pants to steady myself. I don’t know how long we stood there for, his mouth barely caressing mine before the mood changed, and he made his move.
Book Two – Forget Me Not
Official trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHYrLtx3WJY
Only a fool would think they could steal from a werewolf …
Anticipating a quiet night alone with the man she loves, Darcy’s world is sent into a spin with the arrival of someone from the past—Mason’s. She is further shocked by the intruder’s claim she may not even be the true mate of the Mystic Wolves Alpha. Accusations start to fly, leading to her new enemy being granted asylum, and this is just the beginning of trouble.
Relying on the reassurances of Mason and the support of her friends and Pack, Darcy soon falls under attack. Suspicions are raised, and with no other choice, she must flee with Devlin to safety where hopefully they can untangle the lies hidden behind the use of magic. Time is quickly ticking away, leading to a showdown where everything is on the line.
They need to uncover the truth before it’s too late, or once again, Darcy will need to fight to hold onto her dreams.
I looked the woman up and down. It irritated me how she hung on Mason, as if she had every right in the world to do it. I growled and stepped forward, ready to go to war for the man I loved. I didn’t even care about whatever excuse she would give for invading our lives with her false presumptions—I was pissed. I could feel the change happening, and I smiled. Judging from the way she blanched, I knew my fangs must have shown.
“Darcy, stop.” Mason’s voice broke through my anger, and luckily for him he’d moved away from her. “This is Amber, and it’s not what it seems.”
“Who is this, Mason? And why does she think she has a hold over you?” Amber asked.
The syrupy sweetness of her tone set my teeth on edge, and I launched myself at her.
Book Three – Testing Fate
Official trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8r3NpvgwqYo
Nothing burns as bright as the flames of the refiner’s fire.
Moments after hearing the Council sentence her enemy to life imprisonment for attempted murder and illegal use of magic, Darcy is whisked away by the Fates—accused of tampering with destiny. The cherished dream she shared with Mason has been called into question, placing doubt about whether they are actually true mates. To resolve it, a price must be paid—the Heart or Death—a grueling series of tests designed to reveal a person’s worth.
The stakes are high and Darcy finds herself facing the unknown in conditions that leave her more vulnerable than she’s ever been. Separated from Mason and her Pack, with Devlin as her only companion, she is pushed to her very limits. She must succeed—or lose everything.
Will she crumble under the pressure or emerge stronger for testing fate?
“But, do you truly understand what you’re saying? Are you willing to put Darcy and your Pack through more attempts like Amber’s? Are you willing to fight a challenge with every suitor that comes along?”
“Yes. If that’s what is needed, then I will beat them all!” Mason’s body stiffened with determination and I could only imagine what his wolf was experiencing below the surface. Male werewolves were dominant and extremely territorial. I had no doubt Mason would fight to the death, as many times as he needed to, in order to keep me by his side.
“I am sure you would, young Alpha. But are you willing to have Darcy do that as well? Will you be able to watch her fight to the death? Is your pride worth the risk? Are you willing to test fate?”
Book Four – Forever Changed
Official trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cij-AE-XNyU
Waking up after an amazing night with her new husband and mate, nothing could've prepared Darcy for the epic bombshell Devlin dropped—explaining her heritage and revealing truths that completely blow her mind. When all she wants is to settle into marital bliss and pack life, Darcy's world is once again thrown into turmoil, forced to face a challenge that may very well destroy everything she’s fought so hard to preserve.
Not one to sit back and watch the one he loves more than life itself in danger, Mason immediately formulates a plan of action—taking a small group of trusted friends across the United States in the hot pursuit of answers. Time is running out, though. With every attempt to control Darcy's wild magic thwarted, and the dark presence of evil dogging their every move, Mason and Darcy will be left with no other choice but to make a stand—fight or risk losing everything they cherish most.
Decisions will be made. Love will be pushed to breaking point. Mason and Darcy face their greatest challenge, one that will leave them … FOREVER CHANGED.
“There’s no need to challenge. If Devlin needs time, let’s give it to him.”
“He lied to you,” Mason blasted. “All this time he knew there was a threat and he said nothing. He knew why your connection to me was so sporadic and instead of easing your confusion, he continued with this masquerade.” Mason glared over my shoulder at Devlin. “Do you even understand what that did to her? Do you? She doubted herself. She doubted her wolf. She thought she was inferior, and all this time you knew why!” Stepping around me, Mason shoved his friend. “You knew! How could you watch her falling apart with uncertainty and say nothing?”
Daniel quickly moved, just in case Devlin retaliated. As much as my heart was breaking over being kept in the dark, watching the pain between the two of them killed me. What happened next would define their future relationship and, as a result, mine.

"Mmmm." I touched his mouth again, hoping to capture more as I licked the pad of my thumb. "Peppermint?"
"Candy cane. I couldn't resist swiping one from the Christmas tree in the main living room." He winked and my insides flip flopped. Mason didn't hold himself back when it came to flirting with me and I wondered if I'd ever get used to it.

Very pleased to have Téa Cooper with us today. I know you have a passion of all things historic and your love for detail shows in your books.
Have you been conspiring with Facebook? It keeps posting ads about all things vintage to my profile page!
I know! It does it to me too and I swear I don’t need to lose weight. Where do you go to find all of your information?
Good question! I’m a bit like a sponge I absorb all sorts of bits of information, especially about all things vintage and they seep out as soon as I start writing! Then I have to go back and check them. My first stop is usually the Museum in Wollombi. It’s a treasure trove of information and because I work there every month I have the time to forage around. I have also been really lucky and have been given a few things that have been tremendously helpful. The Journal of the first vicar of Wollombi is just wonderful for lots of daily bits and pieces. How long it took to get from Sydney to Morpeth on the steamer, what is on the menu, what’s growing in the garden. Then of course there is TROVE and all the old newspapers and advertisements – the shopkeeper in Wollombi also doubled as a reporter for the Matiland Mercury so there’s lots of local gossip.
What are you working on now?
At the moment I’m writing the second of my 1920s books set in Sydney called The Wages of Sin. It follows the story of Ted and Cynthia, two of the secondary characters in JAZZ BABY which will be released by Harlequin Escape in October. Needless to say the main characters start their journey in Wollombi. I’m also working on the edits for LILY’S LEAP. It is being re released by Harlequin Escape in July.
Can you share a teaser of LILY’S LEAP with our readers?I’d love to! I love this story! It’s a romantic romp through the Wollombi Valley, with a dastardly bush ranger and a heroine who has no intentions of submitting to his plans. It also tells the backstory of some of the characters in Matilda’s Freedom.
The sound of Jem’s hand delivering a resounding whack on the horses’ rumps reverberated in the dusty air and the Dungarven men hightailed it down the road back to their dubious welcome.
Tom’s hair lifted from his forehead as he sighed in relief. He clapped his hat back onto his sweat-soaked head. “Miss Dungarven, we’re leaving.” Pulling a coil of rope from his saddlebag he caught the bridle of her horse and managed to slip it through the bit ring before she sprang into her saddle. Defiance flashed in her violet eyes and his breath hitched. She tensed and pulled her elbows tight against her sides then yanked on the reins.
Time skewed as the massive black stallion lifted onto its hind legs and reared in front of him. Raising his arms he covered his head. A cold sweat broke out on his face and he ducked below the flailing forelegs. Cradled beneath the steaming belly of the stallion, he glimpsed the blue sky between the muscled hindquarters and the silhouette of its mighty testicles. The bulging veins on its haunches throbbed and pulsated to the rhythm of his shallow gasps, and the overpowering musty smell of horse sweat enveloped him.
The roar of blood in his ears deafened him, and as suddenly as it had begun, the shadow lifted and the stallion retreated step by practiced step. Tom struggled to his feet, his legs rubbery from shock. A moist rush of air from the beast’s cavernous nostril swept his cheek.
Miss Dungarven stared down at him, her shoulders straight and her proud haughty face strikingly beautiful in the harsh sunlight. “I assure you I am quite capable of riding without a lead rope.”
What's your favorite thing to do when you're not writing?
I love to read – obviously, and researching is something of an obsession. Then there’s my ‘garden’. Most of it is virgin bush and I rummage around for hours on end. The idea I might be standing somewhere no one else has ever stood fascinates me. There are lots of wonderful caves and the whole area is steeped in Aboriginal history. I also love the theatre, particularly Shakespeare especially anything John Bell puts on.
What do you normally like to read when not writing?
I read everything, all genres even the back of the cereal box and ads! I love historical fiction and I’m rather partial to poetry and a bit of fantasy.
What is your favorite book of all time that you can reread a hundred times, and it still feels like the first time?
The Lord of the Rings – boring I know. I’ve never found anything to beat it. I have all the accompanying books too – the maps, the dragons, the languages …
You have to promise to show me next time I visit. Sounds too good an opportunity to miss. How do you come up with your characters’ names?
In a past life I was a teacher and I have to admit to ‘stealing’ a few names of classroom characters I remember well for my contemporary romances! For my historical romances I like names to suit the era and I go back to my family tree. I’m lucky to have fairly comprehensive family trees on both sides of my family so that’s always my first stop.
What do you do when a flash of inspiration hits you at an inopportune moment?
Write it down! Usually long hand. I have a passion for those lovely Moleskin notebooks and always have one with me.
What fears do you face with the release of each book?
The usual, I think! OMG supposing I’ve made some horrendous blunder, especially in a historical, and used a phrase or described something that is entirely historically inaccurate … nightmare material!
I believe your contemporary romances are now available in print.
Yes! I can’t wait to hold them in my hand. TREE CHANGE, THE PROTEA BOYS and PASSIONFRUIT & POETRY are all available as print as well as ebooks now! There are giveaways running on Goodreads and for subscribers to my newsletter at the moment if anyone would like to throw their hat into the ring.
Hey, thanks for inviting me to stop by. I’m looking forward to reading your new series THE CLUB!
Why thank you, Téa. I’m getting pretty excited about the release too. So glad you could make time for us today. I love listening to you talk all things old and historic and I can't wait to add your paperbacks to my shelf, signed of course.
So excited to reveal to you the cover of Jay Crownover's upcoming release BETTER WHEN HE'S BAD. So far I've loved the series of bad boys and this one looks so good, I can't wait until release day.
Title: Better When He’s Bad (Welcome to the Point #1)
Author: Jay Crownover
Genre: New Adult
Publication Date: June 17, 2014
Publisher: William Morrow an imprint of HarperCollins Publishing
Event Organized by: Literati Author Services, Inc.
Welcome to the Point
There’s a difference between a bad boy and a boy who’s bad . . . meet Shane Baxter.
Sexy, dark, and dangerous, Bax isn’t just from the wrong side of the tracks, he is the wrong side of the tracks. A criminal, a thug, and a brawler, he’s the master of bad choices, until one such choice landed him in prison for five years. Now Bax is out and looking for answers, and he doesn’t care what he has to do or who he has to hurt to get them. But there’s a new player in the game, and she’s much too innocent, much too soft…and standing directly in his way.
Dovie Pryce knows all about living a hard life and the tough choices that come with it. She’s always tried to be good, tried to help others, and tried not to let the darkness pull her down. But the streets are fighting back, things have gone from bad to worse, and the only person who can help her is the scariest, sexiest, most complicated ex-con The Point has ever produced.
Bax terrifies her, but it doesn’t take Dovie long to realize that some boys are just better when they’re bad.

About the Author
I’m supposed to share interesting details about myself so that my readers get to know me so here we go in no particular order: I’m an natural redhead even though I haven’t seen my real hair color in years, I’m a big fan of tattoos and have a half sleeve on either arm and various other pieces all over the place, I’ve been in the bar industry since I was in college and it has always offered interesting insight into how men and women interact with each other, I have 3 dogs that are all crazy, I live in Colorado and love the snow, I love music and in all reality wish I could be a rock star not a writer or a bartender but I have zero talent so there is that.
I love to write, love to read and all I’m interested in is a good story with interesting characters that make the reader feel something.

Today it is my great pleasure to have a visit from the very talented Eden Summers to celebrate her new release Reckless Weekend.
Since Sneaking a Peak came out in November 2012, you’ve managed to get out quite a few books. Tell me, how do you manage your writing time with a young family and a dishy fireman of your own to look after?
I’m lucky. Even though my ‘dishy fireman’ works three jobs, he is actually home quite a lot. We share all the home duties—cooking, cleaning, parenting etc. So it gives me a lot of freedom to write. My youngest (4) is also at pre-school four days a week, which helps a whole helluva lot.
How many times were you turned down from a book offer before you finally got
I took a bit of a different route with my submission process. Instead of aiming for the top publishing houses, I started at the bottom, wanting to start out with a smaller publisher so I didn’t make a fool out of myself or disappoint anyone if I couldn’t hack the process. I got accepted almost right away.
I have had my share of rejections since then, though. Each one hurting a little more than the last.
Tell us a something about yourself that is not in your author bio.
I’m a stressaholic who relies on the relief of alcohol to calm my nerves. Give me vodka, soda, and lime any day (although, I only succumb once a week—I swear I’m not an alcoholic…yet). But I’m also a lightweight. So one drink is usually enough to do the job.
Have you ever started writing something and then scrapped it?
Hell yes. I have heaps. A paranormal shifter romance. Another rock star novel. A contemporary ménage. A fantasy piece. The list goes on. I’d like to revive and finish them all, but I’m not sure if I ever will.
Share the titles of three scorchers on your bedside table.
Apart from notebooks, I don’t have any books on my bedside table. They are all on my kindle. But the authors I’m dying to catch up on are Lorelei James, Delilah Devlin, Cindy Gerard, and Pamela Clare. Too much writing. Not enough reading.
Do you have a book in your house that is destroyed because you've read it so
Can you believe I’ve only ever re-read one book? I love reading, but I don’t read the same thing twice. There are too many new ones I don’t have time to read.
Do you use test readers? If so, how many?
No, not really. I have a few crit partners, a content editor, copy editor, and many proofreaders, but I don’t usually send my stories to test readers.
What does your writing space look like? Feel free to give us a photo too J
Because I work on my laptop, I tend to move around a lot. I’ll write at the dinner table, on the couch, or outside under the patio. But this is my designated office space…
How much of the characters are based on your traits or someone you know personally?
A little piece of me is in every heroine. And I suppose, the same goes for characteristic of my husband in every hero. I like writing about sassy, sarcastic protagonists and I don’t think that will ever change. But I think my characters are a lot cooler than I am. Smarter, sexier, and quicker to give a verbal smack-down too.

Eden Summers is a true blue Aussie, living in regional New South Wales with her two energetic young boys and a quick witted husband.
In late 2010, Eden's romance obsession could no longer be sated by reading alone, so she decided to give voice to the sexy men and sassy women in her mind.
Eden can't resist alpha dominance, dark features and sarcasm in her fictional heroes and loves a strong heroine who knows when to bite her tongue but also serves retribution with a feminine smile on her face.
My fellow Aussie author today is Rhian Cahill, one of my very favorites and a lady whose advice I take very seriously. *cue in fan girl squeal here*
Is there an author that makes you go all "fangirl"?
Two. :) Jill Shalvis and Nora Roberts.
Who are your favorite literary characters? (Yours or someone else's)
Moonface. Without a doubt. He was my first ‘hero’. It’s amazing how that one character had such an impact on me as a kid.
Where do you do your best work?
In my head. :) Okay, I should expand on that. I have noise reducing headphones that I put on to block out the rest of the world and I literally disappear into my head. I don’t always get to do it unfortunately. Real life and the tribe get in the way :( but when I do the words just fly off my fingertips.
Are you a plotter or fly by the seat of your pants writer?
Seat of my pants. It was pointed out the other day that I tend to plot in my head so I guess I’m a mix but I never write a plot. I might jot down a couple of notes or a scene that’s from later in the book but that’s it. Everything else comes in the moment.
Share the titles of three books on your bedside table.
Um, there aren’t any paper books there. But I always have my Nook and iPad which of course have hundreds of books so let’s see......Once In A Lifetime - Jill Shalvis (just finished last night. LOVED), Melting The Ice - Jaci Burton, and Four Weddings And A Fireman - Jennifer Bernard.
How do you find balance with your writing and real life?
Balance? What’s balance? *grabs dictionary*
Describe yourself in 3 words.
Um...is it a bad thing that my mind just went completely blank? lol Okay, let’s see. Honest (sometimes too honest), busy and right now exhausted. :(
How many times were you turned down from a book offer before you finally got published?
I’m not so sure I should answer this one....... The first novella I submitted got accepted. *ducks rotten tomatoes*
Ha ha, as if. That is fantastic - good for you!
How do you come by your ideas?
Hell if I know! They’re just there and they seem to multiply like rabbits! Too many ideas not enough time to write them!
What fears do you face with the release of each book?
The usual. Will they like it? Will it sell well? Will it make new readers go back and buy my others? Will it make readers anxious for my next one?
In this game of chase, a kiss isn’t the only reward.
